Great success for Safety Leadership Event 2021, the national health and safety leadership event by LHS Foundation.
5 March 2021. Safety Leadership Event 2021 the national event about health and safety organized by LHS Foundation made yesterday a great success with the public and feedback alike.
The 2021 edition represents a real “comeback” after the successes of 2016, 2017 and 2018: held on the Airmeet platform in an innovative digital version, able to stimulate the participation and the emotion of the public, the event counted 1800 registrations from all over Italy and beyond, with 1200 participants in the 7 hours of live during the day and an average of 700 connections at the same time.
“The result was a real virtual experience, immersive and engaging” – commented Davide Scotti, General Secretary of the LHS Foundation – “which allowed participants not only to access the many valuable content offered on the main stage, but also to interact several times with each other, sitting in groups at digital tables or communicating one to one“. The event, was as an opportunity for meeting and discussion and had the aim of suggesting a common direction in a time of serious uncertainty; for this reason, the fil rouge was the theme of the leadership of the future, which was divided into seven chapters, corresponding to the seven dimensions of leadership according to the LHS Foundation.
After the opening speech by Davide Scotti, from a futuristic production studio, Marco Satta, Vice-president of the LHS Foundation, went on the virtual stage to assign the Safety Leadership Award 2021, the award that the Foundation use to give every year to a person, a project or a gesture that has helped to spread the culture of health and safety in Italy.
This year the award has been assigned to Franco Bettoni, President of INAIL, for his leadership and humanity. Stefano Donnarumma, CEO of Terna, and Orazio Iacono, former CEO of Trenitalia gave a speech about leadership in safety too.
The second chapter is dedicated to Stefano Zamagni, professor of economics at the University of Bologna who, in an extraordinary interview, spoke about the benefits for leaders, and in particular company managers, in applying the logic of “giving and trust” in their organizations.
The concept of informal leadership has been introduced by journalist Claudio Micalizio, in the third chapter, with his stories and interviews to common people who have been able to transform the crisis related to the pandemic in an opportunity to implement virtuous initiatives for their community.
During lunch, participants could join virtual tables with special guests, such as Mauro Sacchetto, CEO of Elica, Terenzio Traisci, psychologist and Ted speaker, Andrea Colombo, sports psychologist and coach, the experts from Lega Italiana per la Lotta contro i Tumori, and the Ambassadors of ILS and attend an unpublished episode of the format “Professors”, created by Francesco Lancia, well-known television and radio author. The afternoon opened with the fourth chapter, entirely dedicated to the interview with a great scientist, Ilaria Capua, virologist and researcher of international fame, who spoke about health, research and leadership.
The next session was dedicated to the celebration of 10 years of the LHS Foundation, with the participation of former presidents Hugh O’Donnell and Francesco La Rosa and the current president Stefano Porcari; an interesting speech on the future challenges in the prevention of the accidents on the job, held from Marco Satta, Vice-president of Foundation LHS and Director HSE of Saipem has ended this special chapter about the organizer of the event.
In the sixth chapter the main themes were the smartwoking, the technology and the communication, with Will_ita a young editorial staff of journalists that offers innovative and quality content on Instagram, Daniele Pucci, researcher of the Italian Institute of Technology, with whom we discussed artificial intelligence and robotics applied to health and safety, and Fabio Croci, co-founder of the Digital Ethical Movement.
The day ended with a seventh chapter dedicated to art with the performance of the theater company Rossolevante, and their “A chi esita – Screen Edition” and music, with the song “Secondi” by Michael Cordaro, aka Sarcasmo.
Given the great appreciation of the public, the editorial staff decided that all content, divided into seven episodes, will be broadcast soon on LHS Foundation website.
