COOKIE POLICY
Information on cookies and user settings pursuant to art. 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”)
WHAT COOKIES ARE
Cookies are small text strings that the sites visited by the user send and record on his computer or mobile device, to be then retransmitted to the same sites on the next visit. The purpose of the cookie is to remember the actions and preferences of the user, for example the language of navigation, so that it does not have to be indicated again when the user navigates between pages of the same site or returns to a later time. Therefore, cookies are used to authenticate, monitor browsing sessions and store information regarding user activities for statistical or advertising purposes. While browsing a site, the user can also receive web server cookies other than the one he is visiting on his computer or mobile device, these are called “third-party cookies”. Cookies cannot collect any information stored on your computer or in your files. Cookies can be session (automatically deleted when the web browser is closed) or permanent with expiration date or without expiration.
HOW WE USE COOKIES
According to the current legislation in Italy for the use of cookies (http://www.garanteprivacy.it/web/guest/home/docweb/-/docweb-display/docweb/3118884) the following categories of cookies have been identified .
Strictly necessary cookies or technical cookies.
These are cookies that are essential for the proper functioning of our site and are used to manage the login and access to the reserved functions of the site, in general to speed up, improve or customize the level of service to users. The duration of cookies is strictly limited to the work session (once the browser is closed they are deleted), or longer lasting, aimed at recognizing the visitor’s computer. Their deactivation can compromise the use of the services accessible by login, while the public part of the site remains normally usable. The legal basis for their installation is the execution of a contract of which the interested party is a party.
Analysis and performance cookies.
They are cookies used to collect and analyze the traffic and use of the site in aggregate form. These cookies are divided into:
first-party analytical cookies: similar to technical cookies as they are installed directly from the site you are visiting to improve usability. They don’t need your consent.
third-party analytical cookies: analytical cookies created and installed by third parties to analyze user navigation to create statistics on visits or to improve the content offer, show similar products and, if necessary, place targeted advertising on web pages. The system used is Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google LLC (“Google”). Google Analytics, like other systems, uses cookies to allow the website to analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie on the use of the website by the user (including the IP address) will be transmitted and stored on Google’s servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating the use of the website, compiling reports on website activity and providing other services relating to the use of the Internet. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where this is required by law or where such third parties process the aforementioned information on behalf of Google. Google will not associate the user’s IP address with any other data held by Google. The user can in any case refuse to use cookies by selecting the appropriate setting on his browser, but this could prevent the use of all the website features. Since the IP address is clear, the use of these cookies requires your consent. By clicking on the “Continue” button on the banner or continuing to browse the site, the user consents to the processing of data by Google for the aforementioned methods and purposes. For more information, please refer to the link below: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites?hl=it
Profiling cookies: cookies used to track the user’s browsing on the net and create profiles on his tastes, habits, choices, etc. With these cookies, advertising messages can be transmitted to the user’s terminal in line with the preferences already expressed by the same user when browsing online.
These cookies are divided into:
first-party profiling cookies: used and installed by the LHS Foundation to collect information on the user’s browsing habits in order to offer advertising messages that are as relevant as possible to his interests. This means that they are also used to limit the number of times the user displays a specific advertisement: for Fondazione LHS it means communicating more effectively, for the user it means receiving less invasive advertising and closer to his preferences. While browsing the site of the LHS Foundation, promotional cookies allow you to confirm that the user is consulting the advertising messages, showing him promotional content that may be of interest to him based on what he has previously visited. These cookies also allow, while the user browses on other sites, to display for promotional purposes content that he has recently consulted on the site www.fondlhs.org. The www.fondlhs.org site uses promotional cookies exclusively anonymously: advertising is targeted but the user is not identifiable. The promotional cookies used are permanent, although they remain in the user’s device for a limited time. They need your consent.
third-party profiling cookies: used and installed by third parties to track the user’s browsing on the net and create profiles on his tastes, habits, choices. These cookies are managed by third-party companies such as [Google, YouTube].
